My ability to use my flaws is my greatest strength.
Today I am procrastinating. Again.
I've got a 10-week internship to fill up, and I'm hoping to do it this coming summer holidays.
Problem #1: I want an overseas internship, but mosts ones being offered by the university are either local or in china.
Problem #2: I don't want to work in China. Not yet, anyways. Maybe someday, but not yet.
Problem #3: Sourcing for my own internship is basically a hassle.
Did I mention anything about my recent addiction? It's called Colour Cloud Palace in English, 彩云国物语 in chinese, and in jap, I cannot recall (I'm sorry I cannot remember it... will the other fans please not feed me poison).
Yes, people, you got it. It's *gasp* yet another anime.
I still love Enma Ai. Make no mistake. And Saiyuki Gensomaden. And Ayashino Ceres.
So I've got loads of "loves". Humour me.
It's about a relationship between a poor noblewoman (girl, actually) of a politically powerful family who dreams of serving the country, and a reluctant emperor who soon grows to accept his duty even though he was forced into his position.
While this relationship is a central plot(s) pillar, the show doesn't fall into mush. Rather, this (and the minor supernatural aspect thrown in for convenience) becomes a major tool in the storytelling of the intrigues and conspiracies driven by the political forces; as well as of the burden of duty, choices and unchangable pasts in their many guises and forms.
And, for a refresher, the girl is very well aware of the political situations and social appearances. Even if she gets surprised by certain things along the way (like depth and extent of her clan's influence in the country), she quickly learns to make full use of the info. Plus she's very mature for her age to begin with (by the end of the first season though, you can tell she's grown far more).
All the major and minor characters in the series are entertaining and unique from one another; each character has been well-drafted. In addition, you are forced to acknowledge the existance of the minor characters, not only because they are entertaining or cute or filled with gravitas, but also because the majority of the minor characters are not what they appear to be, and a few of those that seemed detached from the main plot are usually (and quite quickly so revealed to be; the anime doesn't rely as much on the surprise factor) the moving forces of some critical event contributing to the plot.
If you must have me pick and choose, here are the characters I think are worth looking out for:

If you must have me pick and choose, here are the characters I think are worth looking out for:
- Black Wolf. Trust me when I tell you, you see him more often than you think. You might even find him quite cute.
- Sa Enjun. Trust me when I tell you, you will see him more than you expect.
- Shou Taishi. Trust me when I tell you, you will see more to him than you expect. (OKAY OKAY I'LL DO THIS PROPERLY FROM HERE ON)
- Sa Sakujun. Bluntly put, he's bad boy... in every sense of the word. Ladies will hate him and love him. Well, at least I do. His ending is unexpected. His implied un-ending, not so unexpected.
- Ran Ryuuren. Just trust me on this one.
- Kou (红) Reishin and Kou (黄) Kijin (just so you know, the 'kou's are different; these two guys are not clan nor biologically related). Trust me. Seriously.
- Ri Koryuu. Just for the heck of watching him get lost.
- Hyo Eiki. Just because.
This anime also makes a lot of use flowers as symbols, conveniently helped along by the notion that an emperor offers 'flowers' to his subordinates as a sign of complete trust, and the said subordinates accept them as signs of complete loyalty.
Names play a very important part as well. Won't say anymore on it though.
Oh yes. This is the most lovable emperor you'll ever meet. I swear, I wanna marry this guy. If only. Sigh.
Right. Back to my resumes. Gah.
