Reality is Stranger than Fiction. So why is fiction so much more fascinating...
Dear Blog,
My economics exam was horrible, my ethics exam wasn't too hot, and I get the feeling that my accounting exam tomorrow is going to be disaster, especially since I can't figure out how to fit stuff into a study sheet like I usually do for difficult subjects.
On top of that, I have absolutely no accomodation in Shanghai, and I'm leaving on Saturday.
~~ I'm leaving on a jet plane~~~ Don't know when I'll be back again~~
Lord help me. I'm a weakling when it comes to the crunch.
One light shines through the darkness: My mother now officially owns a blog.
It's a sports cum travel blog, essentially... and readers should be forewarned: There's some complicated wit in there which will have you roaring with laughter if you can twist your brain around it, or it will leave you quite clueless. It's one of those British humour things. Bet you all are too accustomed to American humour. Change once in a while.
I just realised that my styrofoam-material slippers aren't a good thing to wear on heavy-rain days; they float so much I end up slipping anyway. Even with careful footwork.
Recent anime craze (yes, I know I should be studying for exam... shame on me... such weak will power... I've got my priorities all wrong... I'm not even doing something important like finding a solution to your accomodation problem so there's no valid excuse... ok, let's carry on) is La Corda D'oro: Prima Passo. Think it officially goes by K'inira La Corda or something close to that.
Plot line is actually quite typical and boring (involves an ordinary girl who from time to time becomes a victim of bullying and whom you know will eventually succeed, and a whole cache of elite boys whom you know will eventually fall in love with the said girl), but the music is lovely, and basically the only reason why I'm remotely interested in the story is the music. Classical music within the anime, and very heartfelt tunes for beginning and ending credits. Not to mention the individual portraits of the guys in the beginning are very tempting.
Just some extra trivia: the animax advertisment for La Corda D'oro is pretty disturbing; specifically, a short tagline animation that reads, "Stroke the Golden string". There's nothing wrong with the line itself; the problem comes with the way they animate the words. See, the words, "Stroke", "the" and "string" are displayed first, and then the word, "Golden" fades in later in an upward slant, so the capital G rests in line with the sentence first and the rest of the word fades in slightly above. So if you just happen to notice that split second after the G appears, you'll read, "Stroke the ..."............... Honestly, if you don't get it, good for you.
Also, thanks to veoh, I've just finished watching the first 5 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club (yes, I know I should be studying for exam... shame on me... such weak will power... I've got my priorities all wrong... I'm not even doing something important like finding a solution to your accomodation problem so there's no valid excuse... moving on), which actually has the same storyline (involves an ordinary girl who from time to time becomes a victim of bullying and whom you know will eventually succeed, and a whole cache of elite boys of whom you know some will eventually fall in love, and the rest strike strong friendship, with the said girl), but no so much from lack of originality or creativity. Rather, the storyline is just a shameless excuse for all the shameless comedy that goes on.
Mind, the shameless comedy is very enjoyable. A real pull.
It's one of those rare treats whereby the comedy is the main thing, the plot is an excuse and the serious little side plots serve to keep the comedy from going stale. The usual fare has the plot as the main thing, the side plots are excuses and the comedy keeps the story from going stale.
Speaking of which, I would loooooooovvve to be in a legitimate hostess club, only that in this day and age and especially in this society I exist in, a host or hostess club will have a long list of negative historical conotations with it that will never be easily erased. Same goes for social escorts. If you don't quite get my drift, it just proves my point. Unless, of course, you have absolutely no idea what those negative conotation are. Which I highly doubt.
It's midnight. I'm going to go... play game, and then sleep (yes, I know... shame on me... such weak will power... I've got my priorities all wrong... I'm not even doing something important like studying for exams or finding a solution to your accomodation problem so there's no valid excuse... eventually, I will sleep).
