Words of a Stranger

Waxing lyrical of the crappy details of my life and my views with a healthy dose of cynicism, sarcasm and everything you like about non-wholesome movies.

When one door slams in your face, you can always open another one.

That trouble that I was getting myself into has been resolved. So glad it's finally over. Now I can be scandalous again.

But where shall I start?

Maybe I'll start with the guy who owes me a meal.

I feel so calm. Am I finally growing up?

Beauty is easily missed these days.

I woke up this morning with light on my face; my alarms were an hour from stirring. When once my eyes opened, I was greeted with a sky painted over in a glowing orange, as if somebody had spilt dye over it.

This morning, I woke up in Fairyland. And the rest of the day so far has been sublime.

Controversy is only controversy because everybody says it is.

I just read about polyamory and polyfidelity... Surprisingly sensible ideas, really, but since not many people agree with that, it is not really viable in most societies. Certainly not where I am now.

But honestly, why are people so stuck on the idea of soulmates? From an evolutionary point of view, polyamory and polyfidelity both serve the same purposes: safeguard against dubious diseases, procreation (well, more for the latter)... Then from a social point of view, they also serve the same purposes, plus benefits: long-term commitment and attachment to multiple partners, sexual gratification with multiple partners, trust and respect among multiple partners, shared domestic burdens...

I mean, it is possible to feel romantic affection for two people simultaneously, as well as three or possibly four (of course, as the numbers become greater, the sincerity of that affection becomes more questionable... that much I grant).

This hasn't got anything to do with personal issues; I just really think that, in all practicality, those two ideas seem more viable and sensible than the advocated monogamy, if only culture and law were accepting of such. This is, of course, in the case of people who feel genuine affection for more than one other.

Then again, I guess it's equally easy to abuse such privileges, which is why the law advocates monogamy in the first place. We humans really know how to screw things up for ourselves.

Opportunities are always dancing around; step one is to see the damn things.

Dancing with one of the Fuego Latinos... Hot.

It was coming. A little nods and smiles yesterday, more definite nods and smiles today. If we didn't start dancing soon it wasn't going to end. It was just one of those things; neither is seeking any kind of attention, but you know you're gonna have to do something about it or both feel a little bad and guilty.

But, man, was it the best idea ever.

Oh, the delights of living on the edge without living on the edge.

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG I LOVE LATIN DANCE.

Met an old friend at Union Square tonight, and got a bachata thanks to her.

Let me explain.

See, we were fooling around during the bachata music, doing the footwork facing each other and grooving our own, and obviously looking very gay because this guy comes around and says, "Can I join in?" Made us laugh a bit.

The entire conversation went something like:

Guy: Can I join in? [Friend and I laugh]
I: Well, which one of us do you want?
Guy: Err...
Friend: But I only want her! [Friend and I embrace desperately while Guy looks disturbed]

But anyway, after that I went with him for a bachata. Which was UBER-COOL. Think it got to him, too, because at one point he started blowing in my ear.

Ah-HAH! Now you're sitting up.

We completed the bachata nicely, after which he immediately asked, "Salsa?" And I said, "Okay."

Halfway through the thing he tried to make me lead, which I eventually obliged, but quickly gave the reins back to him. But he was a really hot lead. As in... HOT. They call it salsa for a reason.

OMG. I'm going back there for two consecutive nights. Why on earth did I sign up for summer course? I could've been salsa-ing the whole summer!

The little things in life are more important than the big ones.

Salsa fun. Maybe I'll go again next week, after mini-production rehearsals? Hmmm but I'll have to pay entrance fees if I go that late...

After you complete your goal, then what?

NYAH NYA-NYA NYAH NYAH
MY EXAMS ARE OVER

I'm filling bloated, I'm out of shape... After all sorting out all of this I think I'll go out for trot around orchard... go buy myself more bling, go look at books... Shall I go borders?

Well, I've been writing phantom letters now... yes, I'm in one of my sappy stages again, but I shall spare thee (Mainly because I have absolutely no idea who might be reading this... Mummy, are you there?).

I'll start sewing up some of my clothes tonight, pick out stuff I can start selling on eBay... Dare I hope I will start cleaning up the place? Maybe I can hand-sew some simple bags and stuff. If it works out within a year, I might be able to afford a decent sewing machine.

Stuff need to be washed, too. My bags are stinking a little.

Shall I buy some foundation?

I know I probably need to wash my pencil case or get a new one. Washing is probably better.

I'd call someone out to join me, but most people are still having exams.

I know! I'll head to borders and see if I can find that script I want.

I need a bath first; I feel so listless.

What is the point of forever if the answer is never?

Now I've done it. Never mind what. I'll spare you this one.

Let's get to more fun stuff.

Despite the fact that I have an upcoming presentation and exams the next week, guess what? I'm currently into LaMB, that new Animax original OVA. Not fleshed out too well, but the premise and the animation is pretty cool. The plot is great, but not too well-written. A better script would have done it.

Now I'm just waiting for Tuesday night. If this one got converted into a live movie... Oh boy, what a treat. Provided we have good actors for the role, and a good director as well. And a better script.

It helps that they had really brilliant marketing. Still do, actually. And they chose the right theme song.

Some great quotes (despite the overall poor script):
  • The future will always be beautiful (if you watch LaMB, the implication is actually really scary)
  • Everybody has regrets, whether it's things that they did, or things that they didn't.

Actually, that's all I remember. But it's still cool.

Lemme see if I can still list out my all-time favourite animes (manga not included):
